Purple Heart - Evaluate

Case studies

Customer:Microsoft West Indies and Bermuda

Objective:To create three different voices for the welcome pages for Microsoft West Indies and Bermuda, Microsoft Trinidad, and Microsoft Jamaica

Purple Marketing’s approach: We tried to capture the flavor for each of these territories. For West Indies and Bermuda we used the human brain as an example of a fantastic computer. For Trinidad we used music…“Business is rhythm – manifested in the ebb and flow of profits and loss, the expansion or decline in the way products and services are used. Life is rhythm – manifested in nature, in dance and in music. The steel pan’s notes seem to be in no order yet there is harmony once you become comfortable with ‘what is’ – knowing that ‘the who’ behind the instrument is just as important as the instrument itself.”

And for Jamaica we played off of their recent success in the Imagine cup international competition. Additionally we came up with the wording for the links and re-created the PDF documents for those attachments.

The brief (via email):Further to our initial discussions, I would like to discuss the engagement of your services to update our website for Microsoft Trinidad and Jamaica.  We would only require the review and development of copy.  We already have a start and would simply need you to edit and submit to our agency in Argentina to complete the design and update.

The execution: With very little to go on, we thoroughly researched and came up with the ideas and concepts.

Client’s comments: “What I liked about working with you was that you just picked up the ball and ran with it. I did not have to deal with many questions from you and I was absolutely impressed with the results”  Shamila Smith – Regional Marketing Manager – West Indies and Bermuda

Case 2

Customer:Infotech Caribbean Limited

Objective:To write all the copy for their new site

Purple Marketing’s approach: It is always important to understand the client’s voice especially when you’re dealing with technology. Infotech wanted to come across as ‘not too corporate’ but still needed to be taken seriously. We worked hard to create the “human-ness” in technology while still preserving the facts.

The brief:We met (the web designer and myself) with Infotech executives and basically agreed on a site map. Purple Marketing took that map and re-organized appropriately to reflect their Business, Knowledge and Infrastructural solutions.

The execution: We interviewed key members of the group, and also a couple of customers and proceeded to create each of the pages, starting with the homepage. All the links were identified so once the copy was passed onto the web designer - he knew what pages to link to. Additionally Purple Marketing created and designed all the PDF documents on the site. The case study layout was also created by Purple Marketing. A bonus report was created for Infotech as seen on the homepage of the site http://www.infotechcaribbean.com/infotech/default.aspx and all the topics and copy for the whitepapers were created by Purple Marketing.

Client’s comments: “When we received the first draft for the homepage we were a little concerned – not sure that you had in fact got our “voice”. Once the other pages started rolling in we realized that you had found the rhythm. We were very pleased with the end result” – Vitra A. Gopee – Vice President Sales and Marketing – Infotech Caribbean Limited
